Silver and Sage Leadership Institute

The SAEM/AISS Silver and Sage Leadership Institute offers in-depth career development for emerging divisional leaders by providing a venue to reflect on personal goals and aspirations while exploring higher education issues and topics critical to the success of our division.

Through monthly working retreats, participants:

  • Explore critical professional issues and competencies.
  • Become familiar with research that informs practice.
  • Identify professional tensions.
  • Discuss emerging trends.

Participants will also complete individualized assessment and have access to an expanded network of diverse colleagues from across the division.

Eligible candidates should be members of the SAEM/AISS division and have at least five years of full time experience in higher education. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, employ strategic thinking in their work, exercise sound professional judgment, intellectual curiosity, and agile critical thinking abilities.

Application Process

Applications open in the fall. A cohort of about a dozen diverse professionals from across the SAEM/AISS division are selected to participate through the spring and summer.
