UA Ranked as a Top Global University by World Rankings Center

The University of Arizona has been recognized as a top global university worldwide by the Center for World University Rankings. The UA placed in the top 0.3 percent among more than 27,000 higher-education institution, ranking No. 75 among universities worldwide and No. 45 among U.S. universities.

CWUR rankings are based on the quality of education, training of students, prestige of faculty, and quality of their research without relying on surveys and university data submissions. These measures include the quality of education, alumni employment, quality of faculty, publications, influence, citations, broad impact, and patents. 

The UA in particular, stood out for its quality of education and research, with many UA-led research papers appearing in highly influential journals. 

This year, the UA has also been recognized as global leaders in international education by publications such as Education Dive and Wonke for its visionary Global-Microcampus Network, which will be capable of educating more than 25,000 international students abroad — and is projected to grow to more than 25 University partnerships within three years.

In addition, the UA also earned top marks in CWUR's rankings by subject, holding top five programs in limnology (the study of inland waters), water resources, astronomy/astrophysics, and information science/library science.
