UA Platform Bridge Affordability Gaps in Higher Education

The University of Arizona is improving accessibility to education for all students by bridging the affordability gap in higher education. Today, nearly 1 out of 3 high-achieving, low-income students are discouraged from applying to college due to its high cost, according to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

But the UA has found a solution. Scholarship Universe, created in 2009, provides students and families with listings of both institutional and external scholarships. Innovative to Scholarship Universe, is the platform's scholarship matching engine that automatically matches student profiles against thousands of award opportunities – all in one place.

In 2016-2017, over 70 percent of Wildcats used Scholarship Universe to search and apply for scholarships. In addition, over $6 million in external scholarships were awarded to UA students.

The innovative software has streamlined scholarship management and have not only made the lives of students easier, but also those of decision committees and donors.

Now, Scholarship Universe will help even more students go to college. Through an ongoing partnership between CampusLogic and the UA, four other institutions will join as advisory partners for Scholarship Universe, opening up new college pathways for students across the United States.
