UA Coding Boot Camps Make Big Impact Across Arizona

The University of Arizona Coding Boot Camp program began with a single cohort of 25 students in Chandler, Arizona back in April 2017. Since then, the program has seen immense growth, achieving great popularity and success across Arizona in just six months due to its ability to produce flexible, adaptable workers.

Today, the UA Coding Boot Camp has expanded to five cohort across three different locations, including programs in Chandler, Gilbert, and most recently, Tucson. The coding boot camp in Tucson filled up immediately and classes will begin next week on Tuesday, October 17th on the UA main campus.

The UA Coding Boot Camp emerges at a critical time for employers and students.

Across the United States, there are over 50,000 tech jobs that cannot be filled on a yearly basis, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The UA Coding Boot Camp meets this gap by providing students in Arizona, including those in the greater Phoenix market, with the opportunity to get certified in the high-paying and high-demand field of web development.

Critically, many adult learners and working professionals are heading back to school to look to advance their existing career or change careers entirely. This is due to the velocity and acceleration of new technology under the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which creates different job needs for the workforce.

Through the UA Coding Boot Camp, students can pick up the technical skills of web development in just 24 weeks. In addition, students also learn soft-skills, such as networking, which translates across various fields and jobs. As a result, students not only leave with the hard skills to contribute to the workforce, they also have the malleability and versatility to adapt to new jobs and change careers on the fly.

The next coding boot camp in Tucson class is scheduled to start in January 2018. To learn more about the UA Coding Boot Camp, visit the official website on Continuing and Professional Education.
