Increased Outreach, Student Engagement, Leads to UA's Most Diverse Class Yet

91-Years-Old UA Online Student Proves It's Never Too Late to Get a Degree

UA Online student, Jim Chaffins, is proving it's never too late to get a degree. Chaffins, a WWII Navy veteran, and 91-years-old, is returning back to school after a 74-year gap. 

“I’m a 91-year-old freshman at the University of Arizona enrolled in online classes,” said Chaffins. “I enjoy it very much, but, like I tell people, it’s not the destination. It’s the trip. The getting there.”
