Assessment Institute Overview

The Assessment Institute is a new divisional initiative led by the Office of Assessment and Research and members of the Assessment Coordinating Council.  This year-long program seeks to provide professionals and graduate assistants within the division an opportunity to develop assessment knowledge and hone their skills in conducting outcomes assessment.  This new opportunity will provide staff and graduate assistants with the opportunity to engage in an interactive learning environment that will blend both instruction and the application of newly acquired assessment skills.  

Upon completion of the Assessment Institute, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the knowledge, skills and tools needed to perpetually assess programs and services
  • Perform outcome-based assessment
  • Effectively communicate findings
  • Develop strategies and plans to overcome barriers to performing assessment
