Student Services Fee

The Arizona Board of Regents approved the Student Services Fee in 2009. The Student Services Fee Board allocates the fee of approximately $3 million each year to departments in the SAEM/AISS division.

Students and staff from organizations as far-reaching as the ASUA Student Government, the Arizona Student Unions, Graduate & Professional Student Council, the Office of Student Financial Aid, Veterans Education & Transition Services, and many others can apply for fee money to enhance programs that benefit students.

To date, the fee has funded a broad variety of expanded services and programs for UA students including: improved access to financial aid through Scholarship Universe and Project Rush, career-related opportunities through Employer & Career Development and GPSC Travel Grants, academic support services through Think Tank, and student safety and support initiatives through Safe Ride and Student Legal Services. The Student Services Fee has funded these projects and numerous others.

UA students themselves help determine where funds are directed, via comprehensive surveys issued each year. The Student Services Fee Advisory Board (SSFAB) recommends funding priorities. University oversight of the Board is provided through the Office of the Senior Vice President for Student Affairs, and procedures follow established University business procedures and policies.

Applications for project proposals are typically accepted beginning in early December and close near the start of the Spring Semester. Specifics about applying for funding are available in the Apply for Funding section of the website.

Fee Amount

The fee is $75 per semester (prorated based on units enrolled) and is paid by all UA students. The fee is $40 for students who enrolled prior to Fall of 2017.


The Student Services Fee Advisory Board is now accepting applications until Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 for both undergraduate and graduate student board positions.
