UA's 2017 Class Highest Achieving in School History

The University of Arizona is home to the best and brightest students in Arizona. According to 2017 enrollment data, the UA brought in the highest achieving class in school history, increasing the number of admitted students in the high achieving category, marked by a cumulative 3.5 high school GPA and above 1300 score on the SAT, by 39 percent.

A big part of this increase can be attributed to the increased financial aid UA offers. For example, the Dean's Distinction scholarship awards an additional $1000 for students who have taken rigorous curriculum in the form of AP, IB, or Honor classes, on top of their financial aid awards. This year, the scholarship was awarded to over 1000 students in the new UA class.
