91-Years-Old UA Online Student Proves It's Never Too Late to Get a Degree

UA Online student, Jim Chaffins, is proving it's never too late to get a degree. Chaffins, a WWII Navy veteran, and 91-years-old, is returning back to school after a 74-year gap.

“I’m a 91-year-old freshman at the University of Arizona enrolled in online classes,” said Chaffins. “I enjoy it very much, but, like I tell people, it’s not the destination. It’s the trip. The getting there.”

Jim has always loved learning and thanks to UA Online and their vast network of student support services, including student academic success specialists, he is on his way to earning a Bachelor's degree and world-class education from the UA.
