5 Seconds with Kasey Urquidez

With the school year set to start in less than two weeks, we caught up with Kasey Urquidez, Vice President of Enrollment Management, Student Affairs Advancement, and Dean of Undergraduate Admissions, to get her thoughts on incoming Wildcats and the future of admissions.

What trend in higher education do you see the most potential in?

While the national landscape is changing drastically and the number of high school graduates is decreasing, I see so much potential in the future. These changes help us to be more creative, and think outside the box when it comes to enrollment and the mix of students we attract to be Wildcats!

What excites you the most about today’s college students?

Today’s college students are not only tech-savvy, they’re also highly connected to community and global issues. I am so excited to be part of their educational journey and help them reach their goals of making the world a better place!

What is the best part of your job?

The best part is seeing the excitement and joy on new students’ faces when they become a Wildcat – it still takes me breath away! In addition, I get to work with such wonderful people – I look forward to work each day!

What song is on your summer playlist?

Believer by Imagine Dragons.
